is how Cumberland Community Church provides a counter cultural response to holiday overspending.  Over the last several years, we have become more and more aware of the needs of the poorest of the poor in Africa and India.  Cumberland has decided to fight the excessive spending of the holiday season to focus on giving more to our friends overseas and fulfill James 1:27: “Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.” 

The thought is to spend less on gifts and give more to people in need.   We have developed relationships with HIV/AIDS orphanages and schools in both Kenya & India and want to help the needs of the children.  This year our goal is to provide support to the children through child sponsorship or generous gifts to the homes the children live in. 

Cumberland Church has developed the website spendless2givemore.org to provide you with the opportunity to give.  How often is our giving meaningful and life-changing? Your contributions are also 100% tax deductible.

Our Vision

Our vision is to see over 200 children be sponsored this season.  Sponsorship will provide education, medication, and secure our facilities.  Some can’t afford a full sponsorship so you can give to a children's home which will contribute to child sponsorship.
